MARTINSKÉ BRYNDZOVÉ HALUŠKY

DUMPLINGS WITH FETA CHEESE A LA MARTIN TOWN

Ingredients: 750g potatoes, 2 eggs, 150g thick/rough flour, 150g fine whole wheat flour, 500g feta cheese, 500g lamb meat, 100g smoked bacon, onion, garlic, oil, salt, water.

1. Halusky-dumplings: Grate peeled raw potatoes, add the eggs, flour, salt and make a dough (not too thick). Roll it out on a wooden plate or counter top.
With a knife or a tea spoon form small dumplings, put them in boiling hot salted water. After they rise to the surface, take them out, mix with feta cheese and keep hot.

2. Lamb meat: Cut lamb meat in pieces, roast in oil with chopped onion. Add one crushed clove of garlic, cover with water and stew.

Serving: Halusky are served with stewed meat and roasted or fried bacon.
