NEWEST SLOVAK  200 Sk BANK NOTE

On October 4, 1995, Slovakia issued a new bank note in 200 Sk denomination. Recently I have again received some materials with pictures from the director of Banska Bystrica's Office of the National Bank of Slovakia Ing. Jozef Kreutz. As before I like to share them with you.

It shows a portrait of Anton Bernolak (1762-1813), a priest, linguist and one of the leaders of the Slovak national revival enlightenment ideals. He entered the history of the Slovak nation as he was the first to codify the literary Slovak language known as the Bernolak’s Slovak.

On the other side is a historical picture of Trnava from 18th century, dominated in the center by today’s look at the symbol of town-renaissance Town tower.

The author of the artistic design is academic artist Jozef Bubak who also designed the previous new Slovak notes. The author of the engraving for the plates is Czech engraver Vaclav Fajt. The note was printed in Germany by Giesecke & Devirient a printer of valuable papers. This note is designed with the same safety measures as previous notes.
